Noah 3 Months

My sweet sis and her baby boy. How cute they are! Can't wait to see them next week.

Tatoos

Jack got his first two tatoos today...Nemo tatoos. He did not cry at all.

Sunbathing

Charlotte loves to sit by the pool in her swimsuit and catch some rays.

Napmare

Jack had his first nightmare this afternoon during his nap. He woke up crying and howling loudly, he was screaming something but I could not hear what he was saying ... so I ran into his room. He was crying and screaming "My candy! My candy is all gone!!" Then he woke up and realized he was dreaming. He sat on my lap and I told him it was going to be o.k., Mommy's here, you just had a bad dream. He nodded and sat for a few minutes trying to wake up. Finally he said he felt better. He is currently sitting on the couch watching his favorite show and eating some candy. I figured I could not say no today.

More Tools

Just like his Grandpap, Jack loves his tools. Rich took him to the hardware store (their favorite place) yesterday to get some more, including a hard hat and tool belt.

Charlotte's First Cereal

Charlotte will turn five months old in seven days. I could not wait; I gave her rice cereal today although I was supposed to wait until May 17th. I am hoping it will help fill her up and maybe even sleep longer. She loved it although she looked a little confused. Most of it ended up on the bib and on the floor after I picked her up and she spit it up all over me. We will try again for lunch! When Jack saw what I was doing he yelled, "that's not for babies!"

crazy day

Today was a crazy day. Some days are just full of drama, like today. First I drove to my friend's house for a play date, and on the way there Jack dumped an entire cup of milk on himself and his freshly cleaned car seat, and worse, I turned a corner and Charlotte's car seat tipped over onto its side. I had to pull over and re-adjust it. Strange. I got to my friend's house late, and complained about my old '99 car without the latch system. Not 2 hours later, I found out that my parked car has been in an accident. That's right, my car was hit on the side, the entire rear door was dented in. While I was inside complaining about my old car, it was getting smashed. I guess I should be careful what I complain about. That '99 car is sounding more and more valuable these days.

Then this evening, I got home and received a call from my neighbor. It turns out that our neighbor's two-year-old daughter almost drowned yesterday...she is safe and in the hospital and they think she will be just fine. The scary part is that they have the same exact pool fence that we do. It has a self-closing, self-latching gate. The story is that the neighbor and her children were all in the pool yesterday; the self-latching gate malfunctioned (it did not close), and her 2-year-old opened the gate. We have the same gate and latch. After hearing that story, I went out to our pool to check our gate. It was not latched! I just finished talking to our pool fence's installer and he instructed me on how to adjust the latch. He explained that sometimes settling occurs and the latch has to be lowered. I am not sure how I feel about this, but I am going to see it as a blessing. Thank God that I was inspired to check our latch.

Big Brother Teasing

Poor Charlotte is only four months old, but she has already endured a lot of teasing by her big brother. He loves her, but he also loves to pick on her. I have caught him trying to pick her up by her legs, rolling on top of her, sitting on her, and making a "sandwich" out of her by piling stuff on top of her. The funny thing is, she never cries when he bugs her. She loves any attention he pays to her. Her favorite thing to do is to sit on my lap and look at Jack and laugh.

Mmmmmm!

Jack takes after Rich in a lot of ways, but one way he takes after me is his love of ice cream. I have had a bowl of ice cream to eat every night for as long as I can remember. Jack loves it too!

First Babysitter

Friday, May 2, Crystal came over to babysit for Jack and Charlotte while we went to a party. We were gone for three and a half hours and we had a great time. Charlotte was already in bed when she got here and Jack went to bed an hour after she arrived. Everything went well and we will do it again soon!

First Baseball Game!

From First Dad/Son...
Brandon Webb with the win. Augie Ojeda with 6 RBIs. 10-4 D-Backs. Mets

Jack's Stats: 5 innings attention paid, Earned Popcorn Average: 0.5, Cotton Candy Batted In: 1. We wore our Red Sox hats, of course, which isn't all that controversial in a NL park. Jack had to wear a Diamondbacks shirt with the rest of the crew we went with. We sat wayyy up above the third base line, with plenty of space to spread out and walk around. Jack liked all the clapping and cheering. He is officially a baseball fan, next time we'll try to make it to the seventh inning stretch, and beyond. After about five innings he didn't want to sit in his chair anymore and we were all out of popcorn.
