Can't Make This Up

Last night after the kids were in bed, I was going to skateboard over to a neighbor's house to play video games. But it gets better. I fell off the skateboard. So I was bleeding and I had to go back to our house for Mom to help me put band-aids on my scraped up hands and foot. Except its not my Mom, its my kids' Mom. So of course, we're out of regular old band-aids. But we had plenty of Madagascar ones - or as Jack calls them, Alex the Band-Aid. So I had to wear cartoon band-aids all night. And I never got to play Nintendo.

Lets say that again to help create a good mental picture...and remember that it isn't 1987, and I am currently a 32 year old father of two:

I skateboarded over to my friend's house, to play Nintendo. I fell off my skateboard, and Mom helped me clean up my scrapes and put Alex the Band-aid on them. I was sad cause I never got to play Nintendo last night.

I can't make this kind of stuff up.

6 Months Old

Charlotte had her six-month doctor's appointment with Dr. Curley. She is 26 1/4 inches long (50-75th percentile), 17 lbs, 1 oz (75th percentile), and has an 18 inch head circumference (100th percentile). The doctor says that she is doing great! She can start eating all baby foods now. She received four shots and one oral vaccine. Her next appointment will be at nine months old.

Jack was a perfect gentleman during the appointment. He showed the nurse and doctor his soccer ball, played the harmonica for everyone, and told the doctor that "Charlotte is Jesus." I guess that is because last night we prayed and thanked God for everyone, including Charlotte. The doctor was surprised and said "wow, I don't know what to say about that. I'm honored to be taking care of her today."

This morning Charlotte pulled up onto the chair to a standing position for the first time. She was trying to get to Jack who was sitting in the chair.

Milestones

In the past two weeks, Charlotte has learned to crawl very well, and to go from crawling to sitting up. This week, she also had her first foods including avocado, sweet potato, and applesauce.

Virginia Visit

We just got back from a two-week vacation in Virginia. Jack, Charlotte and I flew to Virginia and stayed with my parents. Rich came to visit the last weekend we were there and helped us get home. Here are some pictures of our crazy adventure!
