Candy Factory

Yesterday we went on a tour of the Cerreta Candy Factory in Glendale. The kids got free samples of their chocolate and saw how candy is made. Afterward, Charlotte threw one of her famous temper tantrums and Jack, high on sugar, showed everyone his new dance. Fun times!

Charlotte has changed so much in the last few months. She is talking all the time, says so many new words, and just seems so much more grown up. She learned to climb out of her crib, which was a big surprise. We are not looking forward to the day when BOTH kids come into our room for the 5AM wake-up call. She has the cutest laugh, loves to dance and tickle people, and she can run really fast, especially when Jack is chasing her. She has also learned how to throw very dramatic temper tantrums, which I am learning is part of having a girl!

May has been busy and a lot of fun, which is probably why I have not updated the blog lately!  The weather has heated up, and we have been spending more time indoors and at the pool with the temperatures in the 100's.  We have to get creative to find ways to stay busy during the day.  We've been going to story time at the outlet mall, bible study and mom's group at church, the fountain at Desert Ridge, the library, and our community pool.  We toured preschools for Jack this month and finally decided on Cross of Christ Christian school.  He will be going two days per week for 3 hrs per day starting in mid-August.  He's so excited!  Charlotte has started talking a lot more, and she can say so many things now, it is fun to listen to her try out new words every day.

Jack found a ladybug at the park on Wednesday. He played with the bug all afternoon and brought it home. We made a house for it and Jack collected grass and rocks for the ladybug's cage. The next morning Jack continued to play with the bug, his "new pet." He came to find me and said "mommy, my ladybug sure is tired! He's laying on his back with his feet up in the air!" This reminds me of the time Carolyn made me come and see how cute her hamster was, laying on his back. How sad...I seem to always be the one to give the bad news...
